EODT Wins NATO Contracts in Iraq and Afghanistan

Jun 15, 2006

EOD Technology, Inc., a Critical Mission Support and Site Redevelopment firm based in Lenoir City, TN, was recently awarded two contracts to support NATO’s security transition missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. EODT will provide canine services in Iraq at the Iraqi Military Academy at Ar Rustamiyah and Battle Area Clearance services at a construction site near the Kabul International Airport in Afghanistan. These contracts support NATO’s security objectives in these locations. To EODT, the award of these highly-competed projects means that our services have been successfully marketed to a new customer that will have future use for our entire range of services.

In Iraq, EODT will provide six highly trained teams of explosive detection dogs (EDD) and security dogs, along with trained handlers, to patrol multiple gates at Ar Rustamiyah. EODT’s teams are tasked with protecting base security, providing explosives detection in vehicles and packages, and on personnel entering the base, and in buildings, facilities, and grounds. EODT has a full service kennel in-country and has significant experience providing canine teams for explosive detection and security purposes in many areas of Iraq and other countries. We are currently among the largest providers of EDD canine teams in the world.

At Kabul International Airport, EODT will perform Battle Area Clearance (BAC) to support NATO. EODT will clear munitions and landmines from land that is a part of the airport subjected to military use and conflict over the last several decades. EODT Munitions and Mine Action experts will respond to the contamination by applying their proven processes and procedures for safe removal of explosive hazards. EODT is accredited by the United Nations Mine Action Center and Mine Action Organization in Afghanistan to perform this work.

Since expanding its global footprint and service offers, and taking on and successfully executing projects of increasing complexity, EODT has become a low-risk choice for customers like NATO throughout the world for Critical Mission Response services. Matt Kaye, President of EODT stated, “We are excited about our relationship with NATO and our opportunity to support NATO as a customer in the Iraq and Afghanistan theaters.”

EODT’s international presence delivers superior value and assurance to its customers through repeat performance. Our diversity of international service offers, supported by an internationally based staff and inventory, includes Battle Area Clearance and EDD services, as well as Static Security, Convoy/PSD services, UXO Response, Mine Action, IT Services, and Life Support Services.
