History
EODT was founded in 1987 by two retired United States Marine EOD Sergeants in response to the munitions clearance needs of the United States military that stemmed from training and munitions-related activities. After completing multiple individual task orders for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), EODT was awarded the USACE’s first ID/IQ contract offered to commercial contractors. Since then, EODT has been the only contractor to be awarded three consecutive contracts under the Worldwide Military Munitions Response program with the USACE.
As EODT’s business grew stronger, it established the Employee Stock Ownership Plan in 2002 – allowing for employees to directly benefit from the financial growth of the Company.
In 2003, EODT expanded its munitions response operations to Iraq and Afghanistan in support of Coalition Forces’ Operation Restore Iraqi Oil (RIO) and the Captured Enemy Ammunition (CEA) Program – the largest munitions response program ever implemented to date.
As the scope of the CEA Program extended to include security, EODT initiated an organic security sector to secure its own operations. By 2005, overseas operations continued to grow and EODT further diversified its service offerings to include convoy escort, personal security, IT solutions and logistics support. The reach of EODT’s protective services and mission support now spans multiple, high profile areas in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as in other high and low risk regions around the world.
Since its inception, EODT has been recognized for its superior safety, innovation and ethics standards; EODT was awarded the 2007 National Safety Council’s Occupational Excellence Achievement Award, ranked the 11th fastest growing small business in the government IT arena by Washington Technology in 2007, and received a top rating for Best Overall Government Contractor Ethics Program by Ethisphere Institute in 2008.
